25 Mar 333
I worship a God who sovereignly moves on history to bring forth His purposes, who orchestrates circumstances with exquisite timing to preclude any confusion on our part that He is behind what is taking place. Recognizing God’s exquisite orchestration of circumstances has become my joy and adventure in life, one of the chief means by which I know what He is saying to me and how He is directing me… It is one of the rich ways He makes Himself real to me… It is the fluid dialogue streaming between us. After months of waking up in the dark, week after week, night after night, looking at my watch and it being, eerily, the same exact time–3:33 am–it began to dawn on me that this was happening on purpose. It was not just a coincidence; God was orchestrating circumstances to speak to me. But what did 333 mean? I had no idea. But that morning of the dawning, as I lay in the darkness, opening my spirit to Him, a deep silent abyss cradled me with the question between us… drawing my focused yearning hard toward Him. What are you trying to tell me?
Before anything else, this washed through me:
I say what
I am going to do and then
I do it.
I immediately saw that each of these “I” references to Himself was actually a “3” of the trinity. God’s being is inextricably present in His speaking and doing. Who God is…. His being, His speaking and His doing so work together as one, that they cannot be separated. 333
Scriptures leapt into my mind confirming what He was telling me:
Remember what happened long ago,
for I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and no one is like me.
I declare the end from the beginning,
and from long ago what is not yet done,
saying: my plan will take place,
and I will do all my will.
Isaiah 46:9, 10
I am the LORD. I have spoken; it shall come to pass; I will do it. I will not go back; I will not spare; I will not relent; according to your ways and your deeds you will be judged, declares the Lord GOD.”
Ezekiel 24:14
Then the nations that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined places, and plant what was desolate: I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it.
Ezekiel 36:36. (30+3+3: 30+3+3)
We know in looking back that what God was telling Ezekiel and all the prophets was that one day Israel would be judged for her deeds, driven into exile among the nations, but the time would come when He would regather her from among the nations to bring her back to her inheritance… the land of Israel. He would rebuild the ruins and the land would no longer be desolate but fruitful. He would give her a new heart and a new spirit so that she would turn back to Him with all of her being. He said that He would fulfill the covenant He had made with Abraham, giving the land to his descendants; but He was also going to do this so that the nations would recognize HIM, the LORD, doing these things. After 2,000 years of the Jewish people having no homeland, on November 29th, 1947, The UN General Assembly voted in favor of a resolution partitioning Palestine. It was the 333rd day of that year, when thirty-three nations voted in favor of establishing a national home for the Jewish people in Palestine. Despite the overwhelming odds, despite centuries of unbelief reframing and spiritualizing what God had said . . . God was doing what He had said He would do. (1)
