earthquake

earthquake

An earthquake is coming. Devastating images will assail us. It will stagger the United States of America, if and when we force Israel to divide into two states. All the earth is His, but Israel, that tiny strip of land contested more than any other in all the earth, is His land. Israel is the hallowed ground where God chose to work the redemption of mankind. It is not America’s place to force a two-state solution upon Israel. Our leaders say they are seeking peace, but they are demonstrating their contempt of Him.

The earth is the LORD’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, (Psalm 24:1)

This is what the Sovereign LORD says: My jealous anger burns against these nations . . . because they have shown utter contempt for me by gleefully taking my land for themselves as plunder.. (Ezekiel 36:5)

Years ago, God told me, “when the earthquake comes, you will get into position.” There were others getting a word about a coming earthquake, but I did not want to trust something that God did not confirm to me. So I asked Him to confirm if I had heard Him correctly. Immediately I saw the word “earthquake” as if it was printed in a font on a piece of paper three times. That would be the test. I would have to see the word “earthquake” printed in a font on a piece of paper three times. It couldn’t be on a computer screen or in any other format. Time passed, the test slipped to the back of my mind. Then, one morning almost a year later, I woke up thinking, “Maybe today is the day I will see it.” I rushed into my day without a quiet time, besieged by mounting circumstances that drained my strength and turned my insides to jelly. It was about three o’clock in the afternoon when I crumbled before the Lord, desperate to hear Him. I went to my Bible. The reading for that day was 1 Kings, chapters 19-20.

Then the LORD said, “Go out and stand on the mountain before the LORD. Behold, the LORD is about to pass by.”

And a great and mighty wind tore into the mountains and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind.

After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake.

After the earthquake there was a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire.

I Kings 19:11,12

Several months ago, while I was praying for my nation, asking God to intervene, to straighten us out, to warn those who are pitting themselves against Him of the danger they put us in, He interrupted my prayer with, “The earthquake is next, ” as if it was the next act in a play, or the next move in an unfolding plan. This was before the war with Gaza. There was no indication of our forcing a two-state solution upon Israel at that time, but there is now.

Judgment is a strange thing. It confirms “there is no God” to those who want no part of Him. It haunts those who know He’s real, but have yet to take Him seriously. We dread judgment, but when nothing else works, it will perhaps turn a nation back to Him. Judgment is like a two-sided coin. On one side it is salvation: a day of The Lord, when all who call upon His name will be saved. On the other side, it is a day when those who blaspheme His name will prove their antagonism toward Him.

God loves us. And in His love for us, He is not going to withhold the discipline that has the power to save us. No matter what happens, God is on His throne. He will stop at nothing to change the hearts of those whose hearts can be changed. He is going to turn things around. He is going to break through and bring us through. But who is the god we serve? The god who promotes “from the river to the sea, Palestine shall be free” ? Or the God who said to Abraham, “I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you; and all the families of the earth will be blessed through you” ? (Genesis 12:3)

Judgment brings forth righteousness.

My soul yearns for you in the night; my spirit within me earnestly seeks you. For when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. (Isaiah 26:9)

Before I was afflicted I went astray, But now I keep Your word. Psalm 119:67
